Three killed in horrific car-bus collision near Davanagere

In a tragic road accident early Saturday morning (April 5), three people lost their lives in a head-on collision between a car and a private bus on the Biruru–Sammasagi stretch of the state highway near Attigere village in Davanagere taluk.

The deceased have been identified as Basavarajappa (38), Sridhar (32), and Vijay Kumar (35).

The accident occurred around 5 AM when a Maruti Eeco, traveling from Davanagere towards Santhebennur, collided with a private bus coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that all three occupants of the car died on the spot.

Two others sustained serious injuries in the accident and were immediately rushed to the District Hospital for treatment. All the victims are reportedly from Shiraguppa village in Kagawad taluk, Belagavi district.

Authorities have registered a case and an investigation is underway.
