After Kamala Harris canceled her Election Night speech at Howard University with Donald Trump inching closer to a huge mandate, major dem channels fell silent. Former Wyoming representative Liz Cheney who supported Kamala Harris along with his father former vice president Dick Cheney, despite being Republicans, took to X on Wednesday morning and wrote All Americans are bound to accept the results of the elections.

"Our nation’s democratic system functioned last night and we have a new President-elect. All Americans are bound, whether we like the outcome or not, to accept the results of our elections. We now have a special responsibility, as citizens of the greatest nation on earth, to do everything we can to support and defend our Constitution, preserve the rule of law, and ensure that our institutions hold over these coming four years. Citizens across this country, our courts, members of the press and those serving in our federal, state and local governments must now be the guardrails of democracy," Liz Cheney posted. A staunch critic of Donald Trump, Liz Cheney emerged as a significant figure in Dems' fight against Trump as Trump called her a 'war hawk'.

Kamala Harris, her running mate Tim Walz, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton did not post anything on social media. Kamala Harris has not conceded the election and Trump national press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News early morning that they did not hear either from Joe Biden or from Kamala Harris. That might have changed early this morning though, Karoline said.

Donald Trump's estranged niece Mary Trump, a Kamala Harris supporter, wrote: "I am so deeply sorry. I thought better of us."

Republicans against Trump, another active X handle, wrote: "The first convicted felon to serve as president of the United States."

'On the verge of tears, muting television'

At the Harris HQ last night, the scene was glum when the projection showed there will be no close fight and Donald Trump was on his way to sweep the election. According to reports, people were barely holding back tears and muted all the television channels and instead tuned to music.
