'Exercised self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter': Iran vows to give stronger response if Israel retaliates

After Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to payback for Iran missile attack , Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi in a tweet stated that Iran's action has been concluded unless Israeli regime decided to invite further retaliation. The foreign minister in his tweet said that if Israel further retaliated, then Iran's response would be "stronger and more powerful"

Taking to X, Aragchi said, "Earlier this evening, we exercised self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, targeting solely military & security sites in charge of genocide in #Gaza and #Lebanon.

We did so after exercising tremendous restraint for almost two months, to give space for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Our action is concluded unless Israeli regime decides to invite further retaliation. In that scenario, our response will be stronger and more powerful.

Israel's enablers now have a heightened responsibility to rein in the warmongers in Tel Aviv instead of getting involved in their folly."

Iran launched multiple missiles on Tuesday, targeting three military bases near Tel Aviv and important air and radar installations. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that "90 per cent" of the missiles "hit their targets." No injuries have been reported by Israeli authorities.

Following recent missile attacks from Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a strong response. Netanyahu stated, "Iran made a big mistake tonight and will pay for it. Whoever attacks us, we attack them."

This statement highlights ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran. Netanyahu's message indicates that Israel will retaliate against any aggression directed towards it.

Details of any potential counterattack were not disclosed by Netanyahu in his statement.

The event and subsequent response underscore the strained relations between the two countries. As the situation develops, further actions from both sides remain to be seen.
