NEW DELHI: Emirates has banned pagers and walkie talkies in passenger bags. The move is a fallout of last month’s attacks on Lebanese group Hezbollah involving communication devices that exploded.

“All Passengers travelling on flights to, from or via Dubai are prohibited from transporting pagers and walkie talkies in checked or cabin baggage. Such items found in passengers' hand luggage or checked baggage will be confiscated by Dubai Police,” Emirates said on its website on Saturday.

Among foreign airlines, Emirates carries the maximum number of passengers to and from India.
