NEW DELHI: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday hit out at the INDIA bloc, dismissing any possibility of joining hands with the bloc ahead of the Bihar elections.
Speaking at a public event, Owaisi was quoted by ANI as saying, “One-sided love is not going to happen... The people of Bihar should understand that the accusations that were made against us were based on lies and were made because they do not want a leader of the poor and oppressed people to become their political leadership.”
Owaisi accused rival parties of attempting to suppress marginalised voices. “They want the people of Bihar to be their slaves... We will fight our elections well,” he said.
Backing the formation of an alternative to both the BJP-led NDA and the INDI alliance, Owaisi reiterated AIMIM’s push for a third front. “Our president, Akhtarul Iman, has said that we should try to form a third front... This was an effort from our side... Everything has come before the people of Bihar for a reason,” Owaisi added.
