NEW DELHI: Four workers lost their lives while one sustained injuries in a tragic incident at a glass manufacturing unit in Pune when a consignment of glass fell on the workers as they were unloading it from a vehicle on Sunday.
The incident took place at approximately 1:30 pm at the unit situated in Yevlewadi , Katraj area. "We initially received a call that five to six workers were trapped while unloading glass stock at a glass manufacturing unit located in Katraj area. A team of fire brigade personnel was present at the site," a fire official said.
The fire brigade team managed to rescue five injured workers and immediately transported them to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Unfortunately, four of the workers succumbed to their injuries, while one remains under treatment at the hospital.
Authorities from the police department were present at the scene, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
