NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a massive rally in Jharkhand 's Hazaribag , issued a strong assurance to the people that the reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) will not be tampered with, hitting out at Congress for allegedly attempting to undermine these protections.

“Congress wants to snatch SC, ST, OBC reservation,” PM Modi said, adding that his government would never allow it to happen. "I assure you, no one can do it," he said, emphasizing that safeguarding the rights and welfare of these communities is a priority for the BJP-led government.

PM Modi’s remarks were part of a broader critique of the opposition's policies, accusing them of playing politics at the expense of marginalized communities. The Prime Minister said that the BJP government remains committed to ensuring equitable development for these groups, highlighting several initiatives aimed at tribal welfare and rural development.

He further criticized the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha ( JMM )-led coalition government for compromising the state's identity, culture, and tradition for vote-bank politics .

He also targeted the JMM-Congress coalition for its handling of the recruitment drive for excise constables, accusing them of being "insensitive" and causing the deaths of aspirants. He further alleged that the coalition government is "power-hungry" and jeopardizing national security in its pursuit of political gains.

Highlighting the Centre’s focus on tribal development , the Prime Minister announced that Rs 80,000 crore will be allocated for the development of 65,000 tribal villages across the country. "The rays of development are reaching even the remotest tribal villages," PM Modi said, adding that 15 ministries are working together for the welfare of the tribal population.
