NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took aim at the Congress on Saturday, asserting that the opposition party has been losing ground due to the growing unity among Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Dalits, and Adivasis. Addressing an election rally in Nanded, PM Modi accused Congress of disrespecting the Constitution and criticized their stance on Article 370 .
Holding up a “red book” labeled as the Constitution of India with “blank pages inside,” PM Modi claimed this symbolized Congress’s disregard for the values upheld by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. “The entire country is shocked at this political ploy by Congress,” he said, adding that the party’s call to restore Article 370 in Kashmir reveals an “unfortunate and misguided affection” for the repealed law.
PM Modi emphasized that BJP and the Mahayuti alliance hold the key to Maharashtra’s future, citing a slogan that has gained traction: “BJP-Mahayuti ahe, tar gati ahe. Maharashtraachi pragati ahe” (Only BJP-Mahayuti will ensure Maharashtra’s speedy progress). He further underscored the country’s collective goal of achieving a “developed India,” claiming the BJP and its allies as the sole serious contenders for realizing this vision.
Recalling the BJP’s recent success in the Haryana assembly elections, PM Modi predicted a similar outcome for Maharashtra. Additionally, he praised the Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana, a program empowering women across the state, and reiterated his commitment to strengthening Nari Shakti (women’s power).
As the rally concluded, PM Modi’s focus on progress and empowerment resonated with supporters, further intensifying the BJP’s push for a stronghold in Maharashtra.
