As Brock Lesnar is back on WWE after a long hiatus, and was seen on WWE SummerSlam, Paul Heyman , aka The Wiseman of WWE, has defended Brock Lesnar’s return to WWE. His controversial return has raised several eyebrows; however, reports suggest that the WWE icon has received clearance from the company. His comeback received massive backlash, including from Janel Grant’s representatives. Owing to this, Paul Heyman has recently defended Lesnar’s return and addressed the criticisms.

Brock Lesnar’s comeback has stirred controversy, and Paul Heyman has come up in support of Lesnar and defended his return to WWE during a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on August 7, 2025. During the interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, The Wiseman spoke about the decision to bring back The Beast Incarnate to WWE and how a deal was involved in it.
Paul Heyman said, “Okay. I mean, at least to my knowledge, I got tagged into it after the deal was done… What do you mean by deals? Well, he wasn't coming back on speculation. He is Brock Lesnar. Oh, I'm sure there's a new deal involved.” Speaking on criticism related to the comeback, he stated, “No, I don't. I don't pay attention to it. He's here. That's a reality of the fact that he's here. And if you were in Metife Stadium on Sunday, to see Brock Lesnar come out and to see him F5 John Cena.
He further spoke about the response WWE received from the audience; people were just going nuts. Um, that's our paying audience. They're happy to see him. I'm happy to be part of a team that presents him. Uh, everyone has criticism in life.”
Defending Lesnar, he further said, “Whatever that decision is based on, I respect it. If there are critics of it, get over it. He's here and he's going to be here. And you ain't going to be able to cancel him. And I'm happy to have him back because the audience is happy to have him back.”
