After the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam's Baisaran valley, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has repeated its 2019 stance, demanding a complete ban on Pakistani artistes in the Indian entertainment industry. Actor Amit Sadh, while promoting his upcoming film Pune Highway, shared his thoughts on this renewed directive.
Sadh supports Government's decisions
In an interview with ANI, Amit expressed his strong support for the government's decisions, saying, “Country comes first. I believe in the government. I believe in the people who are running the country and the decisions they take. Sometimes, there is no right or wrong in life. So I believe in the government and the actions they think they have to take for our nation."
FWICE renews ban on Pakistani artistes
FWICE had first issued the ban on Pakistani artistes after the 2019 Pulwama attack. Following the recent Pahalgam tragedy on April 22, which resulted in the loss of 26 lives, the organization has renewed its call for the ban, stressing the importance of national unity amidst growing tensions between India and Pakistan.
Strict warning against collaborating with Pakistani artists
FWICE General Secretary Ashoke Dubey said the nation’s interests come first and condemned the recent attack in Pahalgam. He mentioned that the organization had warned its members not to work with Pakistani artists or technicians, and strict action would be taken against anyone who further does.
FWICE sends letters to association
Dubey also mentioned that official letters are being sent to all associations linked with FWICE. He added that the federation has requested the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to issue a formal notice stating that any Indian artist working with Pakistani nationals should be charged with treason.
