Kanpur: A 34-year-old man died when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with an oncoming mixer dumper in the Barasirohi area under the limits of Kalyanpur police station late on Thursday night.
The incident occurred as two motorcycle riders were descending a slope in the area near Barasirohi Nahariya. When the dumper appeared, the pillion rider leapt from the moving motorcycle, causing it to destabilise and slide beneath the dumper with its rider.
Vishal, a resident of Mirzapur, Kalyanpur, recently established a canteen at a Chaubepur liquor shop. On Wednesday at 11 pm, he was travelling home on his motorcycle with his friend Pappu after shutting the canteen. At the Barasirohi Nahariya slope, they encountered an approaching mixer dumper. Pappu's sudden leap from the moving vehicle caused it to become unstable, resulting in Vishal and the motorcycle sliding under the dumper. The impact proved fatal.
In his family, Vishal was the youngest sibling amongst four brothers. He leaves behind his wife Priyanka and daughter Bitty. His father, Jai Narayan, had passed away. ACP Kalyanpur Abhishek Pandey said that if Pappu had remained on the motorcycle, both of them would likely have survived. tnn
