Shillong: The BSF, which is tasked with maintaining vigil along the 443 km-stretch of India-Bangladesh border that Meghalaya shares with the neighbouring country, apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals, while they were trying to jump the border and enter into India.
"On 06th May 2025... BSF troops under Meghalaya Frontier, acting on specific intelligence, successfully intercepted and apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals while they were attempting to illegally cross the international border," a statement issued by the BSF Meghalaya Frontier Headquarters said on Wednesday.
"During the operation, alert troops of the 50th Battalion detected suspicious movement along the border and promptly acted, leading to the apprehension of four Bangladeshi nationals, residents of Mymensingh, Gajipur and Nogaon District of Bangladesh," the BSF said.
