Lucknow: The prosecution directorate has directed Aligarh police to arrest former sub inspector Narendra Pal Singh against whom a NBW has been pending since 1985.
The SI is wanted in a corruption and misconduct case dating back to 1983.
As per official records, an inquiry was initiated by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) following serious allegations of corruption and inhumane behaviour against Singh.
Based on the findings, an FIR was filed at Harduaganj police station. Later, the UP home department granted prosecution sanction. Subsequently, a chargesheet was filed in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Aligarh, in 1985. However, despite repeated orders, the Aligarh police did not produce him in court. On Aug 13, 2024, the CJM, Aligarh issued a standing non-bailable warrant against Singh.
