As the statement went viral on social media, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign, Steven Cheung, debunked the statement, clarifying that it was not from the Trump-Vance campaign.Meanwhile, while the comment was going viral on social media, tech billionaire Elon Musk, a prominent supporter of the former president, said that Trump will 'save the squirrels.'“The government should leave people and their animals alone,” Musk wrote in an X post. “President @realDonaldTrump will save the squirrels 🐿️ 😢 RIP P’Nut.”
