On September 16, Monday, the makers of the hit Tamil film Mookuthi Amman with Nayanthara playing the titular role, took to their social media handles to announce that the sequel to the 2020 film would be helmed by popular director Sundar C. The announcement was made along with releasing a new poster with a tagline that read, 'The Rise Of The Divine'. The announcement also confirmed that Nayanthara would be reprising her role from the original film.
More About The SequelThe sequel will be produced by Vels Film International in collaboration with Sundar C-Khushbu Sundar's production house Avni Cinemax Pvt Limited, and Nayanthara-Vignesh productio house Shivan's Rowdy Pictures. The makers of the upcoming film are yet to reveal other details regarding the rest of the cast and plot details of the film. About Mookuthi AmmanThe original film, directed by RJ Balaji, starred himself, along with Nayanthara and Oorvasi in lead roles. Balaji played Engels Ramasamy, a misfortune-stricken news anchor who lives a whiny life with his single mother, three sisters and a paternal grandfather. His visit to his ancestral deity, Mookuthi Amman, makes his life turn on its face, but it accompanies certain challenges.
