Most eyes in the crowd were on local hero and legendary off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin to see how ho performs on home ground. It has been a solid Test match for him, especially with the bat in hand, having scored a century in the first innings. With his three wicket on Day 4, Ashwin now has 176 wickets in the World Test Championship. He now becomes the first Indian to take 175 wickets in the history of the competition. He becomes the third bowler in the world after Nathan Lyon and Pat Cummins to achieve this feat. He also overtakes Cummins to go second in the list of all-time highest wicket-takers in the history of the WTC. This was his 6th century in Tests, as he equalled the tally of the great MS Dhoni. Ashwin became the first player in history to thus score 20 fifty-plus scores and 30+ five-wicket hauls in Tests. He also became the 5th player and 2nd Indian to take multiple five-wicket hauls and hit multiple centuries in the same venue.
