'Find The Road Challenge': Internet Mocks Bengaluru Infra Faultlines Amid Heavy Rain

Social media users had a field day mocking the poor infrastructure in Bengaluru after persistent rainfall caused massive waterlogging in the city, also known as The Silicon Valley of India.Bengaluru's Manyata Tech Park, one of India's largest office hubs, was submerged in knee-deep water after Monday night downpour. Several videos of the tech hub turning into a "swimming pool" surfaced on X, triggering netizens to slam the IT hub's infrastructure. The rare October rain led to heavy stagnation of water at crucial junctions of the city like the Silk Board, making going from one place to another almost impossible. With schools shut, some parents posted videos and photos of their inundated roads and service roads to justify the need for holiday and the work-from-home option.Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, for its part, has issued an advisory urging people to "stay indoors, close windows and doors and avoid travel if possible".But these announcements came under criticism from netizens as in some parts of Bengaluru the sun shone brightly.One of the X users, who identified himself as D.Shivsagar, added a touch of humour while sharing visuals of flooded roads and waterlogging in Bengaluru, including streets running through posh areas.

Another user said Bangalore's streets have become a "wild ride" as he shared a video capturing the conditions of the roads after the downpour.@travel_vb, had also posted videos from Ring Road, stating that, "Crumbling infrastructure in a city where everyone works so hard every single day and pays some of the highest taxes only to deserve hazardous living conditions." The official handle of Citizens Movement, East Bengaluru also questioned the never-ending taxes imposed on citizens while giving them subpar infrastructure.

People waded through the flooded roads to reach their destination.Several trees came down crashing in the city affecting vehicular movement.
