Soap spoilers: Coronation Street character's true identity exposed in bombshell DNA twist

's Kit Green (played by Jacob Roberts) is struggling to hold it together as he tries to come to terms with the fact that Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) could be his son while also coping with the death of Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) in the soap. Spoilers released for next week's episodes show he is forced to confront both issues. Wanting answers once and for all, he tackles Brody's mother, Lou (Farrel Hegarty), suggesting she do a DNA test to find out Brody's paternity once and for all, but will she agree?

While he awaits her decision, he tries to keep Brody on the straight and narrow, preventing him from stealing wine from a delivery van. However, unaware of Kit's reason for showing so much interest in him of late, he makes an accusation of harassment against him. Although it is dismissed by Kit's colleague Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) as it adds to his stress. And when he and girlfriend Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) and mother Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) find Brody injured in an alley with a broken bottle of whisky next to him, it is clear things are starting to get on top of the detective.

He is also trying to cope with the falout from Craig's death and having been asked by his family to make a speech at the memorial his guilt over the young policeman's death is exacerbated.

On the morning of the service, Sarah's concerned when she realises Kit's already left for the day and as the mourners gather to say their goodbyes he is nowhere to be found.

As Bernie and Sarah desperately try to get hold of him it is left to Lisa to make a heartfelt speech honoring the late copper.

With Sarah and Bernie both anxious about Kit's whereabouts and Brody unhappy with him will he be able to make peace with everything that has happened before his life implodes.

Elsewhere on the cobbles the path of true love isn't running smoothly for Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) as Theo moves out.

He assures Todd it is only for the sake of his kids, and their relationship is far from over; however, when he drops everything following a call from his daughter, Todd is stung when he asserts that his kids will always come first. As Theo spends more time with his children, Todd can't help feeling excluded.

And Maria Windass (Samia Longchambon) lands herself in hot water after an incident with Lou in the salon when she accuses her of stealing cash from Shona Platt (Julia Goulding).

There's a loud crash, and Lou is found on the floor with a broken coffee table around her and Maria standing over her. To Maria's horror, the police arrive and tell her they're arresting her on suspicion of ABH.
