Paul Pogba return sparks excitement from former Man Utd team-mate who shared private chat

Brandon Williams, 's ex-team-mate at , is eagerly anticipating the midfielder's arrival back in football. Pogba, who following a substantial hiatus of 15 months, is keen to reignite his career.

The Frenchman was initially handed a four-year ban after testing positive for a banned substance. However, Pogba succeeded in getting his after authorities decided he did not take the substance knowingly. The 32-year-old's ban was officially lifted last month and he is now . Reflecting on their time together at Old Trafford, Williams said he is excited for Pogba's return, recalling a chat they had, as well as his enduring connection to Manchester. In conversation with former United keeper Ben Foster on the podcast, Williams said: "He has got everything.

"If you had to build a midfielder, you're building someone like him. I'm excited for him to be back and to see how he gets on. It would have been a tough time for him.

"I was actually away in America about two years ago and I spoke to him and he was asking how I was. He's basically from Manchester and he was here from such a young age.

"He knows what type of people we are as well as Mancunians, even with Jesse [Lingard] and Marcus [Rashford]. He gets that side of the banter so I can actually talk to him on a serious level and a jokey level."

Despite rumours about a possible return to United for Pogba, Fabrizio Romano has poured cold water on such speculation. According to Romano, United have showed no interest in bringing him back.

Additionally, previous claims of Manchester City's interest in January have also been quashed. Pogba, who was spotted at an Inter Miami game, has sparked discussions about a potential move to MLS.

However, his ambition to rejoin the French national team may stand in the way of a move to America. French boss Didier Deschamps has recently spoken about his conversations with Pogba.

He said: "He's supposed to be able to play again, but he doesn't have a club. We're talking, and I won't tell you the details.

"Yes, he has the ability and the mentality to return to the highest level. It won't happen overnight, but for the moment, he hasn't made a decision. We'll see."
