One of the UK's most wanted fugitives tries to abduct girl, 5, from Asda

Parents are being warned to be on alert after a man previously jailed for attempting to abduct a five-year-old girl from a supermarket vanished without trace. Tadas Kuslevicius, 36, is now one of Britain's most wanted fugitives after he failed to comply with probation requirements following his release from prison. The Eastern European migrant was jailed in 2021 for the attempted kidnapping after he grabbed the hand of a five-year-old girl in the Asda supermarket in Queensferry, north Wales.

But after failing to comply with post custody supervision requirements he disappeared, and three years later has been listed as one of the UK's . Police believe he could be in the Deeside area of North Wales or Ellesmere Port as he has links to the area. At the time of his original offence, Mold Crown Court heard how the factory worker "gestured to the child" and took hold of her hand. The little girl was briefly led away before she managed to break free and ran back to her mother.

Kuslevicius is then said to have made a second attempt to attract the girl's attention by the outer doors of the supermarket before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Store security took down the details of Kuslevicius' vehicle which enabled police to trace him to his Flintshire home.

After his arrest, he denied any attempts to abduct the girl telling officers he had simply been drunk at the time.

But the mum of the youngster told of the upset the attempted kidnapping of her daughter by the then 32-year-old had caused the family.

Myles Wilson, defending, said at the time: "He accepts he would have caused fright and upset. He had no intention of taking her away from the store."

Byut the lawyer emphasised how this "foolish" act had no prior planning and insisted there were no intentions of taking her away from the store itself.

Judge Niclas Parry branded the incident a "momentary act" and says there was no indication that he had "sinister intentions" for the child.

He told the defendant: "Whether you thought that was playful, because you were drunk, I don't know. But I have no cause to believe you intended to cause any harm."

The judge sentenced Kuslevicius to 10 weeks in prison - which had already been served in the lead up to his sentencing. However he subsequently failed to comply with supervision requirements following his release and a warrant was issued for his arrest in 2022.

And now Kuslevicius is still listed by Crimestoppers as one of the UK's most-wanted fugitives with no sign of him since.

Officers have given a description of Kuslevicius as well as saying they think he is in the Deeside and Ellesmere Port area due to connections there.

Kuslevicius is around six ft tall, of medium build, has brown hair and brown eyes.

A Crimestoppers spokesman said: "Tadas Kuslevicius failed to comply with post custody supervision requirements and remains outstanding with a warrant issued for his arrest. Kuslevicius has links to the Deeside area of North Wales and Ellesmere Port.

"Information in relation to his current whereabouts is sought."
