Laura Kuenssberg was back on the BBC on Sunday morning with a panel of guests - but, just minutes in, fans at home "switched off". The broadcaster welcomed a very controversial guest, who seemed to leave viewers disinterested as the topic of the Iran-Israel conflict was discussed.

Appearing on the show today were Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds, Seyed Ali Mousavi, who is an Iranian Ambassador to the UK, President of Israel Isaac Herzog, former Conservative Minister Tom Tugendhat, TV personality Piers Morgan, independent MP Zarah Sultana, Ralph Fiennes, and Dylan Moran. But a number of names on the line-up seemed to have fans at home rattled as they made their complaints on social media. "I realise that you hope to boost viewing figures by booking controversialists like Sultana, but for me that's a definite turn off," one complained.

While another quizzed: "Morgan? Why?" Someone else fumed: "Laura Kuenssberg surely cannot be that desperate. Piers Morgan a guest on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg."

Some criticised the panel for being too "pro-Israel", as one moaned: "Please deliver a balanced approach today not the usual," and another echoed: "You're doing it again. Bringing a pre-prepared one-sided argument to what should be a neutral discussion where points of view can be expressed." A third said: "What a revolting looking bunch, all cheering for Israel again."

Ahead of the BBC show, Laura shared what viewers could expect. In a tweet she highlighted the main topics, writing: "If you have just woken up, America has bombed Iran - huge morning of news - we've just spoken to the Israeli President - we'll speak live to the Iranian ambassador to the UK - and we'll be live in DC after Trump's big address."

The discussions on the show come as President Donald Trump says US forces have conducted "very successful" strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

"Our objective was the destruction of Iran's nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world's number one state sponsor of terror," Trump said in a speech from the White House.

"Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success. Iran's key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated."
