Paul Scholes hit out at after drew again in the on Thursday night. An entertaining stalemate against Fenerbahce extended United's rotten run in Europe to one win in 11 matches.
Christian Eriksen rounded off an electric team move with his fourth goal of the season to fire the visitors ahead in Istanbul.
But Allan Saint-Maximin and Youssef En-Nesyri combined early in the second half to equalise for Jose Mourinho's side.
Dalot found more joy against Saint-Maximin than in United's Carabao Cup final triumph over Newcastle United in February 2023.
However, he failed to nullify the tricky French winger in a crucial moment, allowing him to cut inside on the left before he picked out En-Nesyri with a pinpoint inswinging cross.
In the aftermath, Scholes expressed his disappointment with Dalot's role in the equaliser, which left United 21st and winless after three league phase outings.
The United icon accused Dalot of a repeated lack of defensive urgency, stressing that he needed to "get out" to the former Newcastle star to prevent the delivery.
"I think Dalot's guilty of that quite a bit. You know exactly what Saint-Maximin is going to do in that situation," Scholes told Owen Hargreaves and Jules Breach on TNT Sports.
"He [Dalot] needs to show more urgency, get out to him because you know they've got a dangerous player in the box.
"It's a great ball in, and he's not going to miss from there, but Dalot doesn't do that enough.
"He's been okay, one of the better players for United this season, but he needs to get that side of his game right.
"You have to stop that at source. Otherwise, they're going to score because he's a real threat."
In a general assessment of United's latest performance, the sixth match they've failed to win in seven in all competitions, Scholes deemed the result positive at a hostile Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
However, he insisted that Erik ten Hag's side must start winning in the Europa League, with five games remaining to find a way into the top eight.
He added: "I think, on the face of it, it's okay. You would probably take that result before the game. It's a decent draw.
"The two results you have to say: Porto away, tough place to go, good draw. Fenerbahce away, good draw. It's the home game that was really disappointing, the Twente game. You should be beating those teams.
"They're in a terrible position in that Europa League. They've got to start winning games soon."
