Liam Payne, the former One Direction sensation, met a tragic end after reportedly displaying erratic behaviour before plummeting from an Argentine hotel balcony, it is claimed.
TMZ sources claim that the pop star suffered a fatal fall from his balcony at Hotel Cas Sur in Palermo. Authorities were summoned to address concerns about "an aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol".
Eyewitnesses disclosed to TMZ that the calamity occurred shortly after 5pm local time, noting that Payne had earlier exhibited "behaving erratically" within the hotel's lobby.
It is believed that Payne destroyed his laptop in the lobby and subsequently required assistance to return to his room.
Argentinian police have described the injuries from Liam's fall as "extremely serious injuries". Alberto Crescenti, the director of the emergency medical service, informed the media that Payne had fallen into an inner courtyard, reports .
Crescenti announced: "At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel."
He continued, "At 17.11 a SAME team arrived and verified the death of this man and later we found out that he was a singer in a musical group. Unfortunately, he had injuries that were incompatible with life, as a result of his fall, so we had to confirm his death, there was no possibility of resuscitation."
Liam Payne, the former One Direction star, opened up about his past struggles with alcohol and substance abuse, admitting that there was a time when his lifestyle raised serious concerns. The 'Strip That Down' singer, who found fame alongside Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, revealed to the BBC: "When I was younger, I went straight in on the whisky. I tend to pick my poison early, then I stick with it until it bores me."
Despite his glittering career, Liam has spoken out about enduring some "very dark years" due to mental health issues.
The pop sensation, who fathered a son named Bear with his former flame, the celebrated singer Cheryl, disclosed: "There were a couple of very dark years of me going through extreme peril with different mental health things."
