Kirstie Allsopp has been a familiar presence on our TV screens, notably with her presenting duties on the property show, Location, Location, Location. But behind closed doors, she has several family homes and - no surprises - they're all utterly charming. The property expert owns two homes in West London and Devonshire, and both are labelled "real" and "homemade". She shares her family home with partner Ben Anderson and her two sons and stepchildren, so let's take a look at both of them and see whether Kirstie Allsopp follows her own advice. She bought her Notting Hill home in 2006 and also owns a six-bedroom Devon cottage.
When she allowed The Daily Mail into her house in 2015 for an interview, she shared that she reused items throughout every room. She said: "Someone asked me if I designed all this, but it's not like that. It comes together over time. You get things all the time, and you are adding and taking things away."
She regularly posts snaps of her Notting Hill home on social media, detailing sneak peeks such as French doors leading from the bedroom to what appears to be an ensuite bathroom. There is also a cosy fireplace and she gave an insight into her bedroom, which had white bed linen and pearlescent shimmer wallpaper.
In Devonshire, her six-bedroom property can be used as a place for a holiday stay. On the website Classic Cottages, the description reads: "Found in total seclusion minutes from Welcombe Mouth, one of the most stunning beaches on the north coast, Meadowgate sits at the base of Welcombe's deep valley.
"The social rooms are accessed from the elegant slate and tiled hallway. The comfortable sitting-room boasts an open fire, and large sofas encourage you to sit and read that long-promised book. Children will love the second sitting-room, filled with Kirstie's inspired home-made crafts."
It adds: "Upstairs are three double bedrooms, a twin room, and a really special twin bunk room for four children. The Vi-spring beds have luxurious cotton bedding, and the main bedroom has a wonderful roll-top bath for you to indulge in and soak up the peace and quiet of the surrounding countryside!"
In 2021, Kirstie's old family home in Wiltshire was put on the market for a whopping £3.5 million. Once owned by the parents of former Christie's chairman and peer Charles Allsopp, it was in the family for around 30 years before it was sold in 1982 or 1983.
Kirstie's father is perhaps best known for wielding the gavel in a mind-blowing £24.75 million auction of Van Gogh's Sunflowers in 1987.
Property lovers will be intrigued to know that the old family house now boasts a 12m-long pool and is set in 4.63 acres. Renamed as Highlands, the property features a wing layout, which means that several families can get together under one roof. It also has stables, a coach house, a walled garden, and a lodge.
The 11-bedroom manor recently hit the headlines when it was drawn into a planning row. The new controversial estate - developed by CG Fry & Son - will border the Grade-II* listed building Vern Leaze, located in Calne.
180 new homes and a medical centre are planned for the nearby area, but hundreds of local residents firmly objected to the plans earlier this year.
