One star on Gogglebox has said that he will "be annoying right until the very end" as he shared what he did and didn't want at his funeral. Channel 4 favourites Giles Wood and Mary Killen were discussing how they would mark his time on earth in Friday's new episode.
Being filmed in their Wiltshire cottage, Giles told his wife of over 30 years that he wanted to "insist on something" upon his death. He said: "By the way, Mary, if I do die then I want to insist on something. I don't want Frank Sinatra's song I Did It My Way at the funeral." Mary quipped back: "You didn't do it at all, let alone doing it your way!" He laughed before replying: "No, I didn't do it. Nor do I want Bohemian Rhapsody either." Curious about how her husband wanted to leave the world behind, Mary then asked: "Well, what do you want?" In true Giles style, he replied: "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every day by Slade."
Mary covered her head in her hands as she laughed: "What on earth? That would be so annoying!" But Giles responded with his usual dry humour as he declared: "Yes, I'll be annoying right until the last minute!"
The two stars previously opened up on their marriage, admitting that they "hardly talk". The eccentric couple are known for making hilarious digs at one another with Giles jokingly saying they are "incompatible".
In a recent interview, Mary admitted the pair's on-screen banter has sparked concern among viewers.
When asked if they believe people can relate to their marriage, Giles commented: "There's a friction there." Mary agreed but added viewers would not like to see them "split".
"I think they like us for disagreeing agreeably. They like us fighting but not splitting up," she stated.
Giles followed up: "When we started, there [were comments about us] on Twitter, and although we don't watch Twitter, I did look at it once or twice, with morbid curiosity, at three in the morning."
He added to Idler: "Some were favourable and they said 'relationship gold', meaning, 'I wish I could have a row with my husband or wife and then laugh at it at the end.' Some families have three-day sulks when they fall out with each other."
