Joe Tate has been a dead man walking all week after the village residents discovered just how dastardly he is and what he's exactly responsible for. The list includes manslaughter, drugging, organ theft and adultery - no small things. On Thursday, 8th May, things reached a climax when he was unceremoniously shoved out of a window at Home Farm, leaving nine potential culprits in the mix.
These include Billy Fletcher, Dawn Fletcher, Clemmie Fletcher, Cain Dingle, Charity Dingle, Ruby Milligan, Caleb Milligan, Kerry Wyatt, and Noah Dingle. However, after watching the episode on Friday, 9 May, viewers are convinced that someone else will be responsible for Joe shuffling off his mortal coil.
After discovering Joe survived the window plummet, things went downhill when he experienced a bleed on the brain and doctors had to put him into a coma.
Fans will know that after discovering he was ill and needed a new kidney, Joe initially targeted Noah by drugging him to take a sample to check if he was a match. When he found out he wasn't, he left him high as a kite in the woods, causing Charity to swerve her limo to avoid hitting her son, and resulting in the unfortunate deaths of Leyla Harding, Amy Wyatt, and Suzy Merton.
Amy's mum and husband, Kerry and Matty, learned this awful news and immediately blamed Joe (rightly so). But there was another person who needed to know the truth - Leyla's son, Jacob. After finishing his shift at the hospital where he's a junior doctor, he returned home and was told what had happened.
Distraught, he said: "So all of this is his fault? I've just been trying to save his life."

Those watching at home were quick to jump on X, formerly Twitter, to share that they think it'll be Jacob who kills him after all. One user penned: "I just hope Jacob finishes the job so Joe is finally gone." Another person added: "Jacob's gonna finish him off regardless of who pushed him...." Someone else wrote: "Yes Dr Jacob switch Joe off on your next Shift."
A fourth user stated: "I'm convinced it's Jacob and Noah told him what Joe did before going to the police to report Joe." Another suspicious viewer wondered: "It's funny how Jacob seems to have been hanging round the village for so long, but he's been back on duty at the hospital the 1 time Joe is admitted!" And someone else outright predicted: "Jacob's going to pull a double shift and smother Joe."
usually airs weeknights on ITV at 7.30pm, with an early release on ITVX at 7am
