If you thought your air fryer was just for chips, think again.
As the cold weather sets in, there's only one thing that will warm our bones and make us feel cosy - a delicious bowl of . While shop-bought tins or cartons of soup are delicious, nothing quite matches the delicious taste of a soup you've made yourself.
But if you've ever tried to make soup yourself, you'll know that it can sometimes be quite the process. From cooking vegetables so they can be easily blended to getting the liquid levels right so that you have a perfect soup consistency - making soup is no easy task.
Unless, of course, you follow this , which the creator has declared will be the "easiest soup you'll make in your life". And there's one thing that makes this recipe so much easier than the rest - you can cook the entire dish in your .
The recipe was shared on by the account Bored of Lunch, and you only need a few ingredients to make it. What's more, you can even cook yourself a delicious cheese toastie for dipping.
In his video, the man said: "It's that time of year when you want to start dipping cheese toasties into soup. Here is an air fryer red pepper soup - it's probably the easiest soup you'll make in your life."
Ingredients- 500g cherry tomatoes
- 3 red peppers
- 1 red onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp thyme
- 250ml vegetable stock
- 150ml double cream
- salt and pepper to taste
- fresh basil to garnish
The method for cooking the soup couldn't be easier. All you need to do is chop the peppers and the onion and add them to the air fryer along with all the other soup ingredients except for the stock, the cream, and the basil.
Cook the veggies for 20 minutes at 200C, then add the remaining ingredients. If you have a hand blender, you can blend the ingredients directly in the air fryer basket, or alternatively, you could pour them into a blender - and then serve.
If you have a two-drawer air fryer, you can make yourself a cheese toastie for dipping in the other drawer. In the TikTok video, the man demonstrates that all you need to do is take two slices of buttered bread, stick some cheese in the middle along with a tablespoon of Dijon mustard, and cook in the air fryer for seven minutes at 200C.
The finished soup should serve four people. The simple recipe blew away commenters on the video, as many had never considered cooking soup in an air fryer before but were eager to try it out.
One person said: "Stop it! I'm off to the shops right now."
Another backed the recipe, stating: "I made this yesterday, and it's the tastiest soup I've ever made. I used normal-sized tomatoes and had loads of skin in the soup after I blended."
