Donny Osmond pens heartbreaking plea as star inundated with support during 'tough time'

was inundated with messages after he offered some kind words following Hurricane Milton's potentially life-threatening impacts as it headed towards the Florida coast. The powerful storm is expected to hit the region today.

The 66 year old urged the American public to "heed the warnings" and to stay safe during this "tough" period. In a heartfelt message, the Osmond singer wrote: "Praying for everyone affected by Hurricane Helene, and I hope and pray everyone stays safe with Milton on its way.

"Please heed the warnings from your authorities. Reach out and help your neighbour when possible during this tough time."

His 211,000 followers rushed to comment on the post as one penned: "Thank you for your kindness."

A second commented: "Beautifully said, Donny! I agree 110%."

A third shared: "Prayers are going out to all those in the path of Hurricane Milton and those still picking up the pieces after Hurricane Helene."

Milton is one of the most powerful storms to form in the North Atlantic in recent years.

Thousands have since fled as Milton has strengthened back into a Category 5 hurricane even though it is forecast to weaken before it makes landfall.

It comes just two weeks after Hurricane Helene caused substantial damage across the US.

Meanwhile, Donny is set to return for a new UK tour in an exciting update.

The singer, who played Joseph over 2000 times, will play the Pharaoh in the show when it commences a festive season at Edinburgh Playhouse on December 3.

Donny said: "I always knew I would return to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Having starred as Joseph in over 2000 performances in this magical musical, I am now ready to channel my inner Elvis and assume the role of Pharaoh in Edinburgh starting this December."

Further tour dates are expected to be announced.
