A British man who was wanted for "several murders" has been arrested in Spain. Local police reportedly found guns, ammunition, and a silencer in his smashed-up car after he crashed.
The alleged hitman reportedly tried to get two Dutch women at a petrol station to buy him cocaine before crashing his Nissan Qashqai in Costa del Sol shortly after. He then tried to flee from police before being arrested in an area called Riviera between La Cala de Mijas and Marbella.
Local paper Diario Sur said the suspect is linked to "one of London's most dangerous crime gangs". He was reportedly wanted for "several murders," and pictures show the two pistols, ammunition, a silencer, and a notebook with names and addresses that were found in his car.
After being arrested, the suspect was handed over to the Spanish Civil Guard. Police said he was then put behind bars.
A spokesperson for Mijas police said: "A British man has been arrested in Riviera who had a warrant out for him ordering his remand in prison for murder."
They added: "While conducting surveillance work in La Cala de Mijas, officers were called yesterday to deal with an altercation at a petrol station in the area. Upon arrival, they interviewed a customer at the station who stated that a foreign man who had been harassing her had already driven away from the scene.

"Shortly afterwards, a call was received alerting us to an accident on Orfebres Street in Riviera. Upon arrival the officers found a damaged vehicle that matched the one involved in the incident at the petrol station.
"The driver attempted to flee when he saw police, but was quickly intercepted by the officers. Once identified, they verified that he was a British man with a warrant for his arrest and remand in prison for murder. He was also carrying several firearms and a large amount of ammunition,n which were seized."
The name and age of the alleged offender were not given.
