Arsenal have already made a couple of important signings but the Gunners still have plenty of work to do this summer. They are said to be active on several fronts with Mikel Arteta eager to improve his squad for the upcoming season. The north Londoners will be desperate to finally achieve their goal of securing Premier League glory with a refreshed team.
Their midfield looks to be in a strong position following the arrivals of Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard. Kepa Arrizabalaga has also moved across from Chelsea to provide some capable backup in between the sticks. However, it will be crucial for Arsenal to improve in other areas if they are serious about winning silverware next season.
Express Sport looks at their to-do list between now and the start of the campaign...
Pay up for Viktor GyokeresArsenal are pushing to complete the signing of Viktor Gyokeres but are yet to strike an agreement with Sporting over a transfer fee. They have reportedly been set a non-negotiable asking price of £60.3million up front and £8.6m in add-ons.
The latest offer from Arsenal is believed to have fallen short of those demands, meaning there is still work for the Gunners to do. Personal terms are not expected to be a problem, with Gyokeres having been offered in excess of £200,000 per week.
He is arguably the best striker in world football right now and Arsenal will be desperate to wrap things up as quickly as possible.
Chelsea winger Noni Madueke has also been touted for a move to the Emirates Stadium and would be a solid acquisition. The news of Arsenal's interest prompted a mixed reaction from supporters but there is every chance it would be a smart move.
He is capable of playing on both flanks, meaning he would battle Gabriel Martinelli for a starting spot while also providing excellent cover for Bukayo Saka. The winger also has plenty of room for growth at 23 years of age, giving him a high resale value.
While the £50m asking price set by Chelsea might be a little steep, it could repay itself in the future if Madueke thrives at Arsenal.
Sign another centre-backIt would also be wise for Arsenal to strengthen at the back by recruiting a new central defender. They have already been linked with a move for Christhian Mosquera, who is said to be keen on leaving Valencia and moving to the Premier League.
Arsenal have already seen a £12m bid rejected, according to The Mirror, with Valencia thought to be holding out for around £25m. They are not in the strongest negotiating position, though, given that Mosquera only has a year remaining on his current deal.
Mosquera would be able to provide solid cover for the likes of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, making him a decent option for Arsenal. Signing him for £25m would be a good outcome but if they can drive his asking price down, it would be even better.
