Two Mumbai-bound international flights faced bomb threats on Thursday, marking the fourth consecutive day of such incidents targeting domestic airlines. The flights, one from Vistara and the other from IndiGo, were subjected to rigorous security checks upon landing in Mumbai. Earlier, similar threats were made on Wednesday to seven flights operated by IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Akasa.

On Thursday, a Vistara flight arriving from Frankfurt with 147 people on board was immediately taken for security checks after receiving a bomb threat. The Boeing 787 aircraft underwent comprehensive inspections upon its arrival at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.

At the same time, an IndiGo flight from Istanbul to Mumbai also received a bomb threat and was taken to an isolation bay for thorough security checks by the authorities.

"The Vistara flight UK 028 from Frankfurt to Mumbai on October 16, 2024, faced a security threat received via social media," the airline said. Following standard procedures, all relevant authorities were informed, and the aircraft landed safely in Mumbai. The passengers were disembarked as security checks were carried out.

There were 134 passengers and 13 crew members on board the Vistara flight. The aircraft departed from Frankfurt at 8:20 pm local time on Wednesday and landed in Mumbai around 7:45 am on Thursday.

IndiGo confirmed that its flight 6E 18 from Istanbul to Mumbai also received a security alert. Upon landing, the plane was isolated, and all passengers disembarked safely. The airline said it followed standard operating procedures and worked closely with the authorities to ensure passenger safety.
