There are many foreign and domestic car companies in India that are manufacturing cars. While some companies sell cars made abroad in India, many companies set up their manufacturing plants in India itself. Reliance's name can also be included in this list now.
Reliance's electric car plan : Anil Ambani's Reliance Infrastructure is planning to make electric cars and their batteries. According to a Reuters report, the company has roped in a former Indian official of Chinese carmaker BYD for this work. Along with this, external consultants have also been engaged to determine the cost of the EV plant. Reliance aims to manufacture around 2,50,000 electric vehicles a year. In the future, the company wants to increase this production to 7,50,000 vehicles. Apart from this, Reliance is also planning to set up a battery plant, which will have a capacity of 10 gigawatt-hours (GWh).
Anil Ambani's new business: Mukesh Ambani's younger brother Anil Ambani is the head of Reliance Industries. In the year 2005, both the brothers separated their businesses. Mukesh Ambani's company is also working on battery manufacturing. If Anil Ambani also starts manufacturing electric cars and batteries, then both the brothers can become rivals of each other in the field of electric vehicles.
