Gold and silver prices have seen fluctuations across major cities today, with gold seeing a slight dip. As of September 17, 2024, the price of 24-carat gold stands at Rs.73,330 per 10 grams in Delhi, while silver is priced at Rs.89,500 per kilogram in the city.

Price Trends

Gold has seen a marginal decline across several cities today. For instance, in Delhi, the price of 24-carat gold was Rs.75,310 per 10 grams on September 16, 2024, showing a drop of Rs.1,980. Similarly, in Chennai, 24-carat gold is priced at Rs.73,280 per 10 grams, slightly higher compared to the previous day at Rs.73,100. Silver prices remain stable at Rs.89,500 per kilogram in Delhi and Mumbai but have seen a slight increase in Chennai at Rs.95,000 per kilogram.

MCX Futures Update

Gold futures for February 2025 on the MCX were trading at Rs.74,509 per 10 grams, down by 0.181%. Meanwhile, silver futures for November 2024 were trading at Rs.2,020 per kg, showing a decrease of 2.321%.

Factors Influencing Price Changes

Several factors contribute to the fluctuation in gold and silver prices, including international demand, currency exchange rates, interest rates, and government policies on gold trade. The strength of the US dollar and global economic conditions also play a significant role in determining gold prices in India.
