A notification can ruin your life

Send Push

Science has made tremendous progress in the last few years, and a big example of this progress is the journey from landline to smartphone. Earlier people used the phone only for talking, but now smartphones are being used for almost every work. Although this technological advancement has made our life easier, it has also created some new challenges and problems.

Smartphone addiction and its effects

Today many people spend a lot of time on their phones even without any need. They do not realize how much time a small notification on the phone wastes in their day. According to a research by the University of California, the time taken to check a notification on the smartphone and then to concentrate on your work again is 23 minutes. That is, if you check even four notifications in a day, then one and a half hours of your time is wasted.

How is time wasted?

When we are in the middle of some important work and a notification comes on the phone, our attention is diverted from that work. Checking notifications again and again breaks our focus and it takes time to work with the same concentration again. This not only wastes our time, but if you have made a long plan, then it becomes even more difficult to complete it.

Statistics of phone addiction in America

A study by the American company Asurion shows that an average American checks his phone 352 times a day. This study also revealed that about 49% of the people in America are suffering from phone addiction, that is, they want their phone with them all the time.

Smartphone addiction is increasing in India too

Not only in America, smartphone addiction is increasing in India as well. According to the World of Statistics report, India is at the 17th place in terms of smartphone addiction. China is at the first place in this list, Saudi Arabia at the second, Malaysia at the third, Brazil at the fourth and South Korea at the fifth. Smartphones may be making our lives easier, but their addiction is becoming a big problem. We need to use our time and attention in the right direction so that we can complete our important tasks without any interruption. If we put a little rein on the use of smartphones, not only will our time be saved, but our productivity will also increase.
