Sunny Deol has been gearing up intensely for his upcoming films this year. Though his latest release didn’t perform as well as hoped, the sequel to his hit film Jaat has already been announced, and his main focus right now is on Border 2. The shooting of the much-anticipated film is underway, and after a short break, Sunny Paaji has returned to the sets to continue filming alongside his co-stars. But with his comeback to the set, something else has also begun — the onset of heavy rains causing delays.

Earlier, Sunny Deol had been shooting Border 2 in Dehradun, frequently updating fans with behind-the-scenes videos. Rain had interrupted the shoot back then, with Sunny and the crew taking shelter in tents. Now, as the shoot resumes in a mountainous location — yet to be officially disclosed — the rain has returned. However, Sunny Deol’s spirits remain high. He recently shared a video on Instagram showing himself enjoying the rain with a cup of tea on set, captioning it, “Shooting begins, and with it rain too.”

This mood of enthusiasm contrasts the weather delays, highlighting Sunny’s dedication to the film. The massive scale of the set is visible in the video, indicating the grand production values being invested in Border 2.

Meanwhile, other cast members have also begun their work. Ahan Shetty, son of Sunil Shetty, started shooting his part on Father’s Day, and Diljit Dosanjh joined the project from June 10. The excitement among fans is palpable as they await the sequel to the iconic Border (1997). While the original team will not be returning, Sunny Deol aims to make a strong impact with the new ensemble.

In addition to Border 2, Sunny Deol has a busy year ahead with projects like Safar, Lahore 1947 (expected on OTT), Jaat 2, Ramayana, and an upcoming action film for OTT platforms. The performance of these films will be crucial, as a flop could affect his career momentum, but successful releases could put him in competition with Bollywood’s biggest stars like Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan.
