The second ODI between India and Australia is underway in Adelaide, and despite a change in leadership, Team India’s luck with the toss remains unchanged. Shubman Gill, captaining the team in this series, once again lost the toss — making it India’s 17th consecutive toss defeat in ODIs.
Even with Rohit Sharma playing under Gill’s captaincy, the team’s toss woes continue. Earlier, India also lost the toss in Perth, and the pattern shows no sign of breaking anytime soon.
Team India last enjoyed toss luck back in the 2023 ODI World Cup semi-final against New Zealand, when Rohit Sharma was leading. Since then, whether under Rohit or Shubman, the Men in Blue have found themselves on the wrong side of the coin every single time in the 50-over format.
