On Sunday morning, neighbours gathered at the house of Amit, a resident of Akbarpur Sadat village in Meerut, on hearing of his death due to snake bite. There they saw that Amit's body was lying on the bed and a snake was biting him repeatedly. A snake charmer was called from the neighbouring village in a hurry. The snake charmer caught the snake, but surprised everyone by saying that the symptoms of Amit's death were not of snake bite. He did not die due to snake bite.

How Meerut's Ravita was suspected

Neighbor Sajid told that Amit's mother was already suspicious of her daughter-in-law Ravita. For the last few months, Amit's wife Ravita was getting close to Amit's friend Amardeep. Amit and Amardeep are from the same village and they became friends while working as tiles installers. Due to this, Amardeep had been visiting Amit's house more often for the last one year. When the snake charmer denied the possibility of death due to snake bite, Amit's mother's suspicion deepened, and she screamed and accused her daughter-in-law Ravita of killing her son. Police came on information, and police registered an FIR and got Amit's post-mortem done. In the post-mortem report also, the cause of death was suffocation instead of snake bite. Now when the police took Ravita and Amardeep into custody and interrogated them strictly, both of them confessed their crime.

Ravita and Amardeep told the whole story to the police

When Ravita and Amardeep revealed their conspiracy to commit murder during police investigation, everyone was shocked. Ravita alleged that her husband Amit used to beat her daily. Tired of this harassment, Ravita committed this crime with the help of Amardeep. Both of them were planning to murder Amit for the last several days. Both of them planned to kill Amit while he was sleeping and leave a snake near him, so that no one suspects them and Amit's death is considered a natural death. Ravita gave the task of bringing the snake to Amardeep, but Amardeep was not able to find such a snake, so this plan was postponed for many days.

How Amit of Meerut was killed

On Saturday, Ravita went to visit Maa Shakumbhari Devi temple in Saharanpur with Amit. On returning at night, Amit fell asleep after eating food due to tiredness. Police say that Ravita made Amit unconscious by giving sleeping pills in milk. Then at some point in the night, Ravita called Amardeep, who also brought a snake in a bag with him. Amardeep had bought this snake from a snake charmer for one thousand rupees. Both of them together killed Amit by strangulating him. Later, as per the plan, they left the snake in Amit's bed and covered it with a quilt. After this, Amardeep left. When Amit did not wake up even till eight in the morning, his mother sent someone to the inner room to check. When the quilt was removed, a snake was seen, which was biting him repeatedly.

Meerut's Rural SP Rakesh Mishra said that after the disclosure of the case, the police have arrested Ravita and her lover Amardeep and started legal proceedings. Amit and Ravita have three children aged 3 to 5 years. Today these three children also came to the police station to meet their mother. The case of Meerut's Muskaan has not yet cooled down, while the people of Meerut are shocked to hear another incident.
