Few players have enjoyed an Englanddebut the likes of Michelle Agyemang. In just 41 seconds on the pitch, the forward cemented her arrival on the England women’s senior team with a stunning goal against Belgium in April 2025.
Agyemang had been called to join the Lionesses just two days before her infamous goal to replace the injured Alessia Russo ahead of the UEFA Women’s Nations League match. That said, the 19-year old has been a regular goal scorer for England at both the WU17 (Women's Under-17) and WU19 (Women's Under-19) levels.
The player’s performance was enough to impress England manager Sarina Wiegman. Agyemang is now headed to Switzerland to help the nation defend their European championship. Prior to her senior debut, she even had time to help England qualify for the Under-19 Euros.

“I think she brings something different and I hope she can show that in the summer,” Wiegman said of Agyemang in an England Football statement. “I think we’re really strong up front. Also, we have so many different qualities with the players we’ve picked."
Agyemang has been a fixture of almost every age group in the Lionesses youth setup and her senior tournament debut has been a long time coming.
Like many players, the striker is accustomed to moving teams but has managed to make her mark wherever she’s playing. The England-born player has been on loan at Watfordand most recently Brighton, scoring multiple Women’s Super League goals.
Speaking about her transition between the Under-19s and the seniors, Agyemang told The Guardian: “It’s been interesting going through the different age groups, meeting different players and coaches. But I think the England pathway is so similar across the board, so it’s really easy to settle in no matter where I am.”
Agyemang is a long time “Gooner” - making her Arsenal debut in November 2022 at the age of 16. The academy graduate went on to sign her first professional deal in May 2024.
While this is her first senior Euros, she starred for England at the 2022 Women’s Under-17 Euros and again in the summer of 2024 at the Under-19 Euros.
Agyemang will most likely see limited time on the pitch as a rotation player this summer, but Euros 2025 is sure to be the start of a long career for Agyemang on the international stage.
Sarina Wiegman says she has a "well-balanced" squad - despite a number of high-profile withdrawals. Arsenal's Leah Williamson, fresh from winning the Champions League, will captain a squad that includes 13 players who were part of the triumphant 2022 squad.
Seven players– Michelle Agyemang, Aggie Beever-Jones, Grace Clinton, Khiara Keating, Maya Le Tissier, Anna Moorhouse and Jess Park - will be appearing at their first major tournament while veteran Lucy Bronze is set to appear at a seventh major tournament.
