Long Lost Family viewers were left 'in tears' after one man made a startling discovery during Thursday night's episode. Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell have returned to ITV with their show that helps people reunite with their loved ones, and they met a man who had been left on the steps of a block of flats as a baby.
Lee Sharp, 56, who runs a retro clothing store in Eastbourne, had initially thought he was a foundling before finding out that was not the case. He had been hoping to find his birth mother through the name on her birth certificate, but that turned out not to be a possibility.
However, when Davina arrived at his house with an update, she came with some rather surprising news. She explained: "We have been able to trace a relative. And we have traced...your brother. You share the same mother, for sure."

On the verge of tears, Lee said: "I just thought there was no-one like me in the world.. But there is." Davina then revealed to him that his brother lived in Scotland and confirmed that he also had no idea of his brother's existence. When Davina revealed to Lee that his older brother was called Stephen, Lee immediately asked: "With a ph or a v?" and Davina confirmed it was the former. Lee replied: "Posh!"
Stephen was brought up by his biological mother and father for the first two years of his life, but it was then decided that he would live with his paternal grandparents.
Davina acknowledged that the pair had been put in a 'similar situation', in that their mother had given them both up, even though Stephen had stayed 'within the family unit'. The former Big Brother host then revealed to Lee that Stephen has been married for more than 30 years, has two sons with his wife, and was a nurse.
Lee became emotional when Davina presented him with a photo of Stephen and even more so when he learned his brother had written him a letter in which he expressed an interest in becoming part of each other's lives.
Through tears, Lee said, "Bruv. It's brilliant. Thank you." The final scenes of the episode saw the two men meet face to face for the first time. As soon as they clapped eyes on each other, they shared a hug.
Stephen said, "My story is that I was brought up by my grandparents; Mum and Dad didn't want to be bring me up.
"My grandfather got guardianship over me, my mum and dad still had contact. My dad would phone every Sunday to speak to his mum; every now and then, mum would be on the phone. Every summer, one of them would come up. I do have memories of our mum. The relationship was difficult; she was just somebody I knew.
When Stephen presented them with a photograph of his mother, he was at a loss with how to feel. Eventually, he said: "I always was on her side but it's ever since hearing your story...I don't really care, do you?
He added: "I do care, but I hope she's okay but you're my birth brother." A note at the end of the episode revealed that Lee has now bee introduced to Stephen's family and another trip is on the cards.
Viewers at home were left so moved by the story of a man who went looking for a mother and instead found a brother that they flooded social media with their comments.
One admitted: "#LongLostFamily has me crying every time," whilst another said: "I love Lee on'#longlostfamily yes, you do deserve it [crying emoji]".
A third viewer added: "Wow they look so alike but sound so different. Nurture wins the debate this time....!"
