A two-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy have been left seriously injured after they were inside a house in .
The children, aged two and three, and an 18-year-old woman were set upon at around 4pm this afternoon on Johnson Avenue, Prescot. and North West Ambulance Service raced to the scene before the two youngsters were taken to to treat serious leg and arm injuries. said the dog was seized at the and enquiries are ongoing to establish the breed and identity of its owner. Chief Inspector Phil Thompson said: “This is a shocking incident that has resulted in two toddlers being taken to hospital with serious leg and arm injuries.

“We are in the very early stages of investigating this incident and the dog has been seized at the home. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the breed of the dog and identify the owner. As part of the investigation, officers remain at the scene to carry out witness and CCTV enquiries.
