Jamie Theakston returned to social media to share a rare update after he revealed his stage one throat cancer diagnosis two weeks ago.

Last month, Jamie was absent from his Heart Radio show with Britain's Got Talent star Amanda Holden for several weeks after struggling with his voice after radio listeners noticed key symptoms. Now, the star 53, has confirmed that after undergoing surgery, medical staff discovered a lesion which turned out to be cancer.

Taking to his Instagram Story, Jamie showed support for the late Kris Hallenga ahead of the release of her posthumous BBC documentary Living Every Second. The documentary explores her life after she was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer aged just 23.

Kris passed away in May this year at 38 years old. Jamie helped promote the emotional documentary by sharing the trailer of the programme - which is being released at 9 PM on BBC2 - on his Instagram Stories.
