The Conjuring’s upcoming TV adaptation is shaping up as the HBO Max series has signed on three writers with serious credentials.
The upcoming horror series based on the hit franchise has been in development since 2023.
Things are now shaping up for the streaming service as Deadline has confirmed Nancy Won has signed on as showrunner.

Won has previously written for hit prestige dramas such as Little Fires Everywhere, Tiny Beautiful Things and Sunny.
She won’t be alone, though, as Peter Cameron and Cameron Squires have also both joined as writers.
They are best known for penning episodes of Marvel favourites WandaVision and Agatha All Along, while Squires wrote for the hit Star Wars series The Acolyte, all for Disney+.
Reports of a Conjuring series were first revealed two years ago.
Described as a continuation of the story established in the films, Warner Bros Television is developing the series based on the franchise from New Line Cinema.
Director of the first two Conjuring films James Wan is producing through his company Atomic Monster, as is Peter Safran.
It’s currently unknown if Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will reprise their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren for the new series. So far, no cast members have been attached.

The announcement comes just days after a huge confidence boost for the franchise.
The latest instalment in the now nine-film franchise, The Conjuring: Last Rites, was released this past weekend and achieved the biggest opening for a horror movie of all time.
It has also scored rave reviews from die-hard fans of the franchise. One five-star Google review from an enthusiastic horror fan said: “The Conjuring: Last Rites is more than just a film—it is a masterful conclusion to one of the most beloved horror franchises of our time.
“Without a doubt, this chapter stands as the most gripping, terrifying, and emotionally profound entry in the series.
“It is rare for a horror movie to strike such a perfect balance between bone-chilling scares and heartfelt human drama, but Last Rites achieves this effortlessly.”
The Conjuring: Last Rites is in UK cinemas now.
