Obi-Martin's first goal showed his readiness for the match. He seized on a loose backpass before easily rounding Forest goalkeeper Keehan Willows and tapping home.

It was 2-0 roughly four minutes later, with Forest failing to clear their lines and Obi-Martin drilling low into the bottom corner. Willows had no chance for the third either, with the striker meeting a James Scanlon cross to tuck the ball low into the back of the net, but the keeper was able to stop him adding a fourth just a minute later.

United's youngsters extended their lead before half-time, with Scanlon and Amir Ibragimov on target. Obi-Martin was one of a number of players withdrawn at the break, with the game won, but there was time for Jim Thwaites to add a sixth late on.
