During Sunday’s episode, one storyline focus turned to one of the older daughters Millie and her husband Harley.
The newlywed couple share two children, Chester, three, and Elodie, 22 months, while Millie also has a four-year-old daughter, Ophelia, from a previous relationship.
During the programme, Millie and Harley had a row had a disagreement over Ophelia, with Harley wanting to adopt her and Millie initially being reluctant, leading him to storm out.
However, viewers weren’t convinced with several taking to X and Instagram to share their thoughts that the show was “scripted”.
“The scripts on this show gets worse each week,” one fumed.
“All made up just for the show,” another raged.
Someone else commented: “Agree. Used to be great to watch and now it’s so staged. Can’t watch it anymore.”
Someone else agreed: “my exact thoughts I don’t know how others can’t see how fake this is.”
Another wrote: “If her real dad isn't involved and you're raising 2 more kids with him then surely he's doing the best thing for her? Feels so set up recently which is a shame because I used to like the show but I'll only watch clips on here now.”
After their argument, Harley was taken to hospital with Millie fearing he’d had “a stroke”.
She told mum Sue on the phone: "One half of his face has all gone lopsided. It looks like he's had a stroke.
"He's slurring his words. He's really panicking, I'm panicking."
Millie later admitted feeling “guilt”, saying she was in “shock” from the “scary” ordeal.
She said: "I felt guilty straight away wondering if it was arguing that had caused it.
"If something happened to him how would I feel then?
"I've pretty much done my whole motherhood with Harley, I can't imagine him not there."
They later discovered Harley was suffering from Bell’s Palsy, a neurological disorder that causes paralysis or weakness on one side of the face.

After the health scare made her rethink her decision on Ophelia’s adoption, Millie reflected: "When I thought Harley was having a stroke, it was really scary.
"He was worried as well, and I was worried because of the paralysis side of it.
"What if he would never have been able to cope with the three kids again after that, or handle his life before that?
"I'm filling in the forms for the process of Harley adopting Ophelia.
"It's made me change my mind, because if anything was to happen to Harley, I know that Ophelia would have loved Harley to be her dad, so that is what I'm going to make happen."
Fans were left sharing their support for Harley too, with one writing: “I don't see the problem about harley adopting ophelia she would have his last name then and there would be no questions asked from her?”
Another had said: “I don’t understand why she doesn’t want him to adopt her?? I’d jump at that chance if it was me.”
“Harley is such a nice bloke,” someone else wrote.
22 Kids and Counting airs Sundays at 8pm on Channel 5.
