If you have also received a message asking you to download an APK file to redeem SBI Rewards, then be careful. This message is completely fake and is being sent to steal your personal information. PIB Fact Check has issued a warning in this regard and has appealed to people to avoid such messages.
PIB has clarified that the State Bank of India (SBI) never sends any link or APK file through SMS or WhatsApp. An APK file is being sent in a fake message in the name of SBI. You should not install this file on your phone.
By clicking on such a link, your phone may be vulnerable to malware or viruses, which may lead to theft of your personal information like bank account details, passwords, etc. In such a situation, you need to ignore such messages and not install the file on the phone.
