Navi Mumbai: At Apollo Hospitals Navi Mumbai (AHNM), women are leading the way in kidney donation, accounting for 266 out of 408 donors since 2017.
The hospital's kidney transplant program has achieved remarkable success, with 349 live donor transplants, 59 deceased donor transplants, and a five-year patient and kidney survival rate of around 90%. Beyond kidney transplants, AHNM has conducted 229 liver transplants, 11 heart transplants, and 13 cornea transplants.

Dr. Amey Sonavane, Senior Consultant – Hepatology and Liver Transplant, said, “Every transplant is more than a medical milestone — it’s a story of human connection. That ‘yes’ from a donor becomes a lifeline for someone facing end-stage organ failure."

Dr. Amit Langote, Sr. Consultant Nephrology, added, “One organ donor can save up to eight lives. Kidney transplants restore not just health, but hope, independence, and dignity.” AHNM is promoting organ donation through the “One Yes to Eight Lives” pledge and community engagement. De - spite India's progress in organ transplantation, the demand-supply gap remains a challenge. AHNM's efforts aim to raise awareness and encourage more people to pledge their organs.
