With the International Cricket Council (ICC) updating their latest T20I batting ratings, Virat Kohli has managed to reach the territory where no player has gone before. The 36-year-old has become the first cricketer to achieve 900+ rating point in all three formats after the ICC's updation as he reached a career-high of 909.
Often labelled as the best all-format batter of all time, the Delhi-born cricketer reached a career-high of 909 in ODIs and 937 in Tests. However, the highest rating point he had earned in T20Is was 897 but it has now surged to 909. Kohli, nevertheless, has retired from T20I cricket.

The former Indian captain is now active only in ODI cricket and will likely target the 2027 World Cup trophy to finish off on a high. On May 12, the prolific run-getter announced his Test retirement, shocking the cricketing fraternity. Nevertheless, Kohli retired as the most successful Indian Test skipper with 40 wins in 68 matches.
"We all feel Rohit and Virat's absence" - Rajeev Shukla
With Kohli and Rohit Sharma retiring before the England tour, BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla clarified that the BCCI had no role in the veteran cricketers' decisions and that it was their personal. However, Shukla said he is relieved by their availability for ODIs. He told ANI News amid the Test series against England:
"I want to make it very clear once and for all. We all feel Rohit and Virat's absence, but they took the decision on their own. BCCI has a policy of never telling any player when to retire and from which format. This is on the player. This was their own decision. They took retirement on their own. We will always miss them. We consider them great batters. The good thing is they are available in ODIs."
