According to exclusive data from Justdial, local search engine, there has been a notable surge in online searches for water parks, amusement parks, and resorts—signaling a robust appetite for summertime getaways and outdoor fun.
Between February 1st and April 16th, 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, nationwide search interest for leisure and travel options has grown by 21%. Mumbai leads the charge with an impressive 188% increase in searches for resorts with swimming pools, underscoring the city’s enthusiasm for refreshing retreats.
While metro cities continue to drive significant traffic, non-metro areas are showing stronger momentum, with a 22% year-on-year growth in leisure searches—slightly ahead of the 19% increase seen in metro hubs.
Beach destinations are back in favor, with searches for coastal resorts rising by 50%. Mangalore (89%), Mumbai (67%), and Chennai (17%) are seeing the most notable spikes. For those seeking shorter, local excursions, picnic spots are in high demand, with a 34% jump in searches nationwide. Cities like Surat (460%), Bangalore (221%), and Delhi (87%) are leading the trend.
Among dedicated entertainment venues, theme parks saw nation wise 17% surge in interest, with Mumbai (39%) and Chennai (37%) at the forefront. Meanwhile, water parks posted an 8% increase, with Chandigarh witnessing an astounding 467% spike, followed by Ahmedabad (92%), Jaipur (77%), and Mumbai (35%).
The boom isn’t limited to traditional vacationers. Corporate travel is bouncing back strongly, as shown by a 143% increase in searches for resorts catering to corporate outings, with Bangalore registering a staggering 395% rise. Integrated experiences are also trending, with water park resorts seeing a 74% growth in interest. Delhi leads this category with a phenomenal 521% increase, followed by Jaipur (269%), Pune (164%), and Nagpur (138%).
