Shiv Sena Leader Shaina NC Backs MHADA's Kamathipura Redevelopment Plan, Calls It A 'Historic' Step For South Mumbai

Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde faction leader Shaina NC has supported the proposed Kamathipura redevelopment project initiated by the Maharashtra housing and Area development Authority (MHADA). Shaina has called the redevelopment project historic and thanked Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for giving nod to undertake this much awaited housing project. 

Shaina NC added, “The ongoing Bendi Bazar redevelopment undertaken by Saifee Bhurhani upliftment trus,  and the Kamathipura redevelopment 15 lanes involves 943 cess buildings, 349 non cess buildings,  religious structures and schools run by BMC. The redevelopment means integrated development under cluster redevelopment is planned which will boom the real estate of south Mumbai.“

The Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board(MBRRB), a Unit of the MHADA has called a tender for the appointment of a Construction and Development Agency for the Kamathipura redevelopment project on June 12.

Kamathipura, situated in the heart of South Mumbai, boasts a unique history spanning 200 years. The land here is narrow, making individual building redevelopment impractical. Therefore, MHADA has been tasked with conducting the redevelopment under the cluster redevelopment policy, meaning several buildings will be redeveloped together.
