To mark the 10-year completion of the Maharashtra Right to Public Services Act, 2015, the Government of Maharashtra declared April 28 as ‘Seva Hakka Day’. In Navi Mumbai, the occasion was observed with a  strong emphasis on citizen engagement through various initiatives.

At 11 AM, a special event was organized at the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) headquarters. All officers and staff gathered at the amphitheater to collectively take an oath led by Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Mr. Satyawan Ubale.

The pledge affirmed their commitment to delivering public services in a transparent, timely, courteous, and accountable manner, in accordance with the provisions of the Maharashtra Right to Public Services Act, 2015. It included promises to avoid delays, prevent corruption, and uphold the rights of citizens with integrity and sensitivity.

Prominent officials including Secretary Chitra Baviskar, Deputy Commissioner of Sports and Cultural Affairs  Abhilasha Mhatre, Assistant Commissioner  Prabodhan Mavade, Assistant Health Officer Dr. Ratnaprabha Chavan, Administrative Officer Mr. Sanjeev Pawar, Chief Sanitation Officer Mr. Sanjeev Shekde, and Legal Officer  Abhay Jadhav were present alongside a large number of staff.

To increase awareness about government services and the systems in place to access them, educational street plays were staged at various locations across the city. These performances, organized by the Sports and Cultural Department, began at the headquarters and were well-received by officials and citizens alike for their entertaining yet informative messages.

To ensure citizens are well-informed about the services available under the Maharashtra Right to Public Services Act, banners were displayed at NMMC headquarters, divisional offices, and other municipal premises. These banners include QR codes linking to comprehensive service information—such as required documents, timelines, applicable fees, and complaint redressal officers.

Citizens can scan the QR codes with their phones to access details about 68 online services provided by NMMC.

In collaboration with the Social Development Department, awareness camps were conducted at eight locations including multipurpose buildings, municipal schools, and community centers in Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Turbhe, Koparkhairane, Ghansoli, Airoli, and Digha. These sessions drew active participation from women's self-help groups and local residents, contributing to their success.

To make civic services easily accessible, NMMC has integrated 68 public services into the "My NMMC" mobile app. These services can also be accessed via the official website . Citizens are encouraged to take full advantage of these facilities, said Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde.
